Hello! My name is Louise and welcome to Alphabake! Cooking and travelling are two of my favourite
things and this blog is where I document my ventures in both!
To give you a bit of a background, Alphabake was born on December 1, 2010. I had been studying
for my upcoming exams and was slowly packing up my apartment in preparation for
my move abroad to Scotland. I was looking at my bookshelf, trying to
figure out which books I should give away and which ones I should put into storage. I took note of my cookbook collection. I loved all of the books because they had beautiful pictures and were fun to flip through on a
rainy day. The problem was that I spent more time reading the
recipes than actually giving them a whirl.
There
was no way that I would ever be able to make all the recipes I had in my possession
but I felt that I owed it to the books to at least try out a few from each one. In order to help narrow down my choices I selected 26 recipes that all
started with the different letters of the alphabet (I even picked one out for
'x'...sort of).
Getting through
the whole alphabet has been a longer process than I originally intended. I try to fill the baking void with
pictures of food and other sightings from my travels. I have moved around a lot with Alphabake, either through my vacationing
or with moving between different apartments and therefore different
kitchens. I intend to continue my
journey with Alphabake and I hope you
can enjoy it with me!!!
