A taste of: The Canadian East Coast (Nova Scotia, P.E.I. and New Brunswick)

Halifax

Peggy's Cove

Timbits: a mandatory snack for every Canadian road trip

On the bridge towards Prince Edward Island; The land of beautiful scenery,
"Anne of Green Gables" and cheap lobster dinners (scroll down).

Eating my body weight's worth of seafood for
only $31 at Fisherman's Wharf in North Rustico, PEI.
Also included but not pictured: a seafood chowder
starter, full access to the salad bar, dessert and coffee!
Mike sat across from me while he ate a boring
steak and documented my near brush with a heart attack.

Our first stop in New Brunswick: The Hopewell Rocks.
This is what they look like if you get your timing right with the tides--whoops!

If you ever meet any one from the east coast of Canada they will probably have a lot to say about garlic fingers with donair sauce.  It's an acquired taste but I am glad I finally got to try it!

Strawberry rhubarb pie from the Country Pumpkin outside of Fredericton, NB.

My top dawgs in New Brunswick: Penny and Maisy (aka Little Red)

Finally some beautiful weather on our last day!  Nothing like a couple of
patio beers at the Fredericton Light House (which recently got its liquor license).

The above are photos from the trip we took to the Canadian East Coast this past summer. It was my first time going there and I had been meaning to for years. Luckily we had access to a car so we were able to have a little road trip around Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick.  For the most part the weather was pretty miserable but the seafood was amazing and the people were kind--what more can one ask for? What a wonderful vacation!
